A Tree And Me

Unable to hold any longer,

my grasp now out of season

unpredictable breezes undress me.

Clumping petals scatter

at my base

pink, delicate, and lush.

Upon this carpet I might recline

but not too long while

reflecting on my rings.

Yesterday, robust and brilliant in my beauty.

Today, feathered remnants of what was.
