Thursday Miss Katie Doors #thursdaydoors

Ok, for me it is actually Friday Doors so let me address this right off the top. I’m at our beloved Holden Beach home where the minutes, days, and tides blend so that I am a day late for Dan’s Thursday Doors challenge. Officially, your entries are welcome until noon EST each Saturday so there’s still time to share.

These doors belong to the Miss Katie, a dredging barge that frequents the ICW displacing the copious amounts of sand buildup, or shoaling, in the waterway and inlets up and down the seaboard. Although she is housed in Wanchese, North Carolina, (think Cape Hatteras and Dare County), we’ve obviously employed her to work our filling Lockwood Folley inlet here at the northeast end of Holden Beach. We watch her come and go about three times daily as she works the waterway. You can learn more about the Miss Katie’s work here.

Thank you for visiting me today and remember to explore the many other door lovers who’ve shared their door photos from around the globe. Until next time…🚪

    • She is rather grand for a dredger! And when we are on the beach we see her working out in the ocean, dumping what she’s collected from the inlet. Again, she works from early morning to late afternoon to evening. Busy girl she is!
