my morning walk

The morning haze followed me everywhere. As did this buck. We met each other several times as I traversed our neighborhood streets. He reminded me of my good friend who receives assurances from her deceased father in the form of buck sitings. I do hope this guy means I'm making good choices, too.
These lush, bottlebrush-like grasses remain green and resilient despite the cold snap announcing the time for hibernation.
These red berries remind me of the holiday season sitting on the next turn of the calendar page.
This time of year instills in me a profound appreciation for the many riches in my life, for those who take this journey with me, and the anticipation for that which lies ahead.
in need of a breath
deep inhale of a crisp dawn
letting go what binds.
