Last weekend, E'ville daughter shared her historic and quaint community library with me. Like many libraries, hers took up residence in a local Jamestown, North Carolina school, circa 1915. And, like most old buildings, this one went through several transformations along the years. Initially, the Jamestown Public School Building served high school students with the last class graduating in spring, 1956. It then was part of the Jamestown Elementary School from 1959 to 1982 and then in 1988 it was transformed into the Jamestown Public Library. It is a very inviting and calm environment with an interesting collection of books, many of them recent titles. The basement houses their books for sale and where I picked up a few books I didn't know I needed. If you'd like a bit more background on this building and library, please visit here.

Thank you Dan for hosting our Thursday Doors meeting. I look forward to visiting the other doors posted from around the globe. Until next time...🚪

Ohh I love a library book sale!! You are correct in finding books you didn’t know you needed. Is there such a thing though??!! ha

Old wood tells its own stories. With books? What a great combination.

It is lovely to see these grand buildings so well restored and in use. I love the entrance door’s rich wood finish. I too love finding nrw books, to me, to read.
Thank you for the great share and information.

Suzette, their used books were a wonderful collection of old and new. And no more than $3 I believe. I got two books for $2.
