gallery Thursday Croatia Doors, part 2

Today I share with you doors of Lokrum, a tiny island off the coast of Dubrovnik, where peacocks and bunnies freely inhabit the grounds. It was quite a surprise to be greeted by these locals along the trails, at the water’s edge, and even while sipping my aperol spritz in an outdoor café.

While walking along the dock, the old monastery, and ruins on the island I found these doors to add to my Croatia collection.

These next two are of the same small, thin door above as seen within the tall tower.

There is a beauty in the space left behind where the door no longer exists and the reason I do consider these stoned doorways essential to this compilation.

    • We heard of the beautiful peacocks prior to visiting but had no idea how many lived there. So many babies flitting around or snoozing under a mamma’s wing. And the bunnies were VERY friendly!
