Today I share with you doors of Lokrum, a tiny island off the coast of Dubrovnik, where peacocks and bunnies freely inhabit the grounds. It was quite a surprise to be greeted by these locals along the trails, at the water’s edge, and even while sipping my aperol spritz in an outdoor café.
While walking along the dock, the old monastery, and ruins on the island I found these doors to add to my Croatia collection.
These next two are of the same small, thin door above as seen within the tall tower.
There is a beauty in the space left behind where the door no longer exists and the reason I do consider these stoned doorways essential to this compilation.
My Thursday Door posts are part of Norm 2.0’s recurring Thursday Doors. Norm is currently on holiday and returns August 9th with his weekly scheduled posts. Hope you are having a grand time Norm, we all miss ya!!! Until next time…
What a sweet welcoming committee of beasties and doors!

We heard of the beautiful peacocks prior to visiting but had no idea how many lived there. So many babies flitting around or snoozing under a mamma’s wing. And the bunnies were VERY friendly!

Green doors and stone walls, and an arch thrown into the mix — I’m happy! 🙂

Even though the paint is chipped and old, these doors are gorgeous. And yes, those archways speak to me as well! Glad you agree.

That’s quite an assortment of doors. Those wooden panels at the bottom of the wooden doors is quite unique. 🙂
