Upon reading Ritva’s common objects challenge, I immediately took two photos of nearby objects while sitting at my desk. I realize I focused on patterns: the repeating, slanted swirl pattern on the brass urn and the concentric wire circles on the fan. I also like the old and new appearances of each item based on the filters.

I am late adding to this challenge but enjoyed seeing the many contributions from the past several days. Thank you Ritva for hosting this week!

I just had to come and see what you are about, after reading the comment you left me on my post. I like how you went from colour to black and white.

Sometimes I can’t decide if the original, or black and white versions are my favorites. I guess it depends on my mood. Thank you for visiting me, Mama.

I am a big black-and-white photo fan, so these appeal to me, for sure! My favorite is the urn!

It is pretty in person, too. At my desk I see it every day.

You did not have to go far to find simply common objects that you enhanced wit your take on them. I enjoyed the B&W version, added style to them.

These are nicely done. I loved the contrast between color and monochromes for the same subjects.
