I’ve been busy collecting new doors for my collection and I am excited to share my discoveries with you over the coming weeks. My friends and I were submerged in the Christmas spirit while exploring Vienna, Hallstatt, and Salzburg Christmas markets. Oh, what a festive trip it was and I did return home with renewed joy in my heart. Glühwein, schnitzel, and of course ornate austrian doors are a winning combination, yes?

The next two photos I took in an area that was once the choir crypt of the cathedral. This art instillation, ‘Vanitas’ , by Christian Boltanski, is one of several that encompass Salzburg’s Walk of Modern Art. The dim candlelight and slight breezes created the sculpture’s movements on the wall behind them.
Happy Thursday to all and warmest wishes for a family and friend filled holiday season, however you celebrate! I look forward to reading you and catching up on what I’ve missed over the past few weeks. Thank you Dan for herding us doornatics to your Thursday Doors challenge each week. Until next time…🚪

The first glass door is really stunning.

Thanks Denise. These doors are wonderful. I also really like the figures and their shadows.
I’m not sure you were here when I published the schedule. There is no official Thursday Doors for the next two weeks. We’ll be back to normal operation on January 9th. I hope you have a wonderful holiday season.

Thank you for this update, Dan! I was planning on catching up while driving over the river and thru the woods! Merry HoHo to you, too.

Salzburg was definitely my favorite of the places we visited. So quaint, beautiful, and walkable.
