winter's reflections
shine indisputable truths
'hope springs eternal'.
I am luxuriating in 60 degree sunshine that is rare for the last day in February. I welcome this warmth following the heavy snow and ice our little hamlet has endured for most of January and February. This morning, the birds were singing spring sonatas and the squirrels busily searched for fresh nesting. On the calendar, winter still prevails, but in the air, spring is scouting her entrance.
Note: The phrase, ‘hope springs eternal’, was penned by Alexander Pope in his 1733 poem, Essays On Man.

great post and I like that word “luxuriating”

I love the photo, and your poem. We have a few more cold days before temps swing upward. They say we might see 60° on Saturday. Hope doe indeed spring eternal.

Thanks, Dan, for commenting. As hopeful as I was on Saturday for continued warmer temps, at this very moment we’re expecting a bit of snowfall in E’ville! Jokes on me, right? 😂
